A graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Studies, Laura brings extensive paralegal and legal administration skills to our firm. As a legal secretary and law clerk beginning in 2014, she gained experiences that are extremely valuable in today’s family law practice environment. These experiences include notary public services, legal research, drafting legal documents including separation agreements, divorce pleadings, affidavits, motions, orders, summons and complaints. She is also familiar with estate planning and all aspects of financial accounting that are extremely important concerns of individuals engaged in matrimonial litigation.
Laura’s most recent responsibilities with the Saratoga County Family Court involved extensive interactions with clients, providing information, answering personal questions, and directing individuals to appropriate court units and various support agencies, including legal services.
At O’Brien & Associates Laura will be responsible for reception, first line contact with clients and potential clients, and a wide range of paralegal responsibilities. Laura’s criminal justice training, her experiences as an official of the Saratoga County Family Court, and her work with clients in public and private settings strengthens our firm’s commitment to client advocacy, our first priority.
