Joanne Monagan is among the most widely respected and experienced matrimonial attorneys in the Capital Region. She has more than 30 years’ experience representing adults and children in all aspects of family law and divorce. She also brings a unique perspective to her practice by having spent a decade as Principal Court Attorney working in Family Court and in the New York State Supreme Court systems. These experiences have provided her a with a deep understanding of the complex matrimonial laws, rules, systems, procedures, and personnel from both the court’s perspective and from the perspectives of hundreds of clients that she has represented. In 2022, she received her Juris Doctor with a concentration in Family Law from Albany Law School, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2023. Ms. Baker joins our law firm following her historic wins as a participant in Albany Law’s Anthony V. Cardona ’70 Moot Court Program. Her successes include winning the Domenick L. Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Competition, and first place Best Oral Advocate award, among other achievements described in Nora’s biography. We are extremely proud to welcome Nora to our Firm.

Ana’s interest in matrimonial law emerged during her high school years in Troy, NY, when she worked as a student intern for the Monagan Law Firm, a family-law firm that bears the name of her mother, Joanne P. Monagan, a distinguished matrimonial attorney who is now Managing Attorney at O’Brien & Associates. Ana received her Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School and was admitted to the New York State Bar in April 2023. She is also a graduate of the University of Louisville, Kentucky, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor concentration in criminal justice.
